So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some hints:
Wash wall and make sure it is dried out. For recently painted walls let paint “thouroughly dry” for 10 to 15 days prior to applying decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may nevertheless need to settle and thoroughly cure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not recommended on “Orange Peel” textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and porous surfaces, wallpaper or fragile surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile provided that the surface is thoroughly clean and completely free of moisture during application. Make certain the design element does not cover grout region as water could leak under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, provided that they are positioned snugly onto the surface so moisture can’t get under the decal. Once placed, RoomMates should not move even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals should not be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they should not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and ruin the merchandise. Also, don’t place at the base or inside the tub. Water could filter underneath the design element too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When using, make sure you start from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the other parts of the element away from the wall/surface. Gradually go down over the product with your hand and smooth the element onto surface (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to move any excess bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the issue persists (this would solely happen with the giant decals), you can punch a very small (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to drive the air out.
In all, it is always best to test wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is uneven, effectiveness could be significantly reduced. Make sure surface is thoroughly clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and ruin the product.
