Expressing Anger Profitably
Anger is an emotion that every person has, and the one thing that every person does is express anger in one form or another. The problem is that not everybody expresses anger in good ways. This article talks about how anger is expressed and how you can make sure that your anger does not cause problems for you.
Three ways of expression
Anger is usually expressed in three different ways. Some express it outwardly; others inwardly and again others control it and calm it down.
Outward expressions are shown when you scream, become sarcastic, insulting, threatening or violent.
The outward expression is a bad way of dealing with anger. It often leads to a variety of different problems. One of the biggest problems with it is that your anger levels go up, and it often creates situations where other people react angrily toward you.
Anger that is expressed inwardly is different but it too is dangerous. Inwardly expressed anger leads to the formation of rage and major illnesses like high blood pressure and depression.
There is another expression referred to as controlled anger. This is the good way of expressing anger because it reduces the chances of you becoming ill, and it is also less likely to produce the results of returned aggression.
Expressing anger correctly
If you want to get into the habit of expressing anger in a useful way, you will need to get into controlling yourself between the time that you start to feel angry and the time that you respond to your anger.
You can find a number of anger management strategies that will help you to do this, but I can recommend two things to you to do. First stop what you are doing and take some deep breaths. Count to ten or more until you are calm and then give a gentle answer.
Second, if you find that you have a problem, or if you are about to lose something important to you from being angry, then do an anger management class. These classes are surveyed to be more than 95% effective when it comes to changing attitude and behavior. And another good thing about them is they do their work in a short amount of time. They only need two months to work.
